About Us

Scaffolding Management Services was formed in Western Australia in 2001 and has established itself as a professional organisation supplying scaffolding materials and labour to the Western Australian commercial sector. SMS Contracting P/L was established in November 2002 as a separate entity to directly support the Industrial, mining & resource sectors throughout Australia.

Mr Mark Welsh served for five years in the Royal Navy as a Logistics and Supply Officer prior to entering the construction industry. In the past 25 years he has experienced all aspects of the scaffolding industry both in Australia and overseas. This includes extensive experience in the petro-chemical industry, onshore and offshore together with the civil, commercial and resource sectors as a Scaffolder/Rigger, Contracts Supervisor/Estimator, Operations Manager and North-West W.A. Regional Manager responsible for major on-shore projects and various offshore projects. Recent Major projects have included: -

• Setting up a complete Scaffolding Management Team of 60 personnel, for the Scaffolding Maintenance Contract at Ravensthorpe for Nickel West/BHP.
• Scaffolding Manager at the Burrup Peninsula on LNG train 4, managing a scaffolding workforce of 115 personnel and 3500 tonnes of equipment for the Ausclad Meisei JV insulation contract.
• Wagerup Expansion project.
• QAL Expansion -Queensland
