SMS Group Services were requested to provide an engineered solution at Elizabeth Quays that required our team to consider a number of variables. Low Header clearances to support an 1100mm deep concrete beam, a water table that had to be drained and suitable ground condition required to distribute leg loading imposed as the concrete was poured.
The mandatory factor and requirement on the design based on a bridge structure was minimal beam deflection.
The solution and no doubt one of the very few projects undertaken in Western Australia, resulted in the Falsework being build utilised Tube and Fittings. SMS Group Services engineered a reduced grid pattern to distribute the loads imposed evenly across ground bearers whilst U Head Jack adjustment and the correct ground level was paramount.
Our Project Manager offered the engineered solution and Tim Munro successfully coordinated the labour team to complete a unique solution which included engineered sign off at every stage of the project.
